This continuous lighting kits are ideal for small to medium photo studio. For portraits or larger product photography, one light kit can be used as your main light that defines the subject and the second light can be use as the fill light to reduce your contrast levels. The light is soft. You could move it easily to any photo place and setup them quickly.
Overall a good, reliable product.Reviewed by sagebrush sis, 2010-03-07
I received my lights sooner than expected. The shipping was fast and affordable. The lights provide quality, affordable lighting. I replaced the bulbs that came with it with a higher wattage, but kept the original bulbs because you never know when you are going to need a quick replacement, or just a little less light. This is my first continuous lighting set and the quality it adds to a photo in comparison with a strobe set alone is phenomenal. I would highly recommend this product.
GREAT Value!Reviewed by Kenneth L. Favrow II, 2010-02-02
We've had these for about a year now, I believe, and they've held
up very well. As you'll notice if you shop around, the price on
them is excellent. So far we've seen no drawbacks to this low price
and are very impressed.
The CFL lights the set came with are even still working (we
expected to replace one by now!)
Excellent value!
Exactly what I wantedReviewed by meronpan, 2009-06-05
After fooling around with custom lighting solutions for a while
(desk lamps and tracing paper diffusers), this was a welcome
upgrade to my setup. I've only been doing product photography for
about a year, but was able to notice quite an improvement moving to
these lights. The bulbs included aren't terribly bright so you'll
probably have to upgrade if you're not capturing motionless
objects. My shots at 100 ISO, f/3ish~f/5ish generally require 1/10s
up to 1/4s or more for shutter speed when using only these
lights.
Bottom line, seems like you get what you pay for. A nice beginner
set to give you a taste of better lighting.
nice for priceReviewed by tmo, 2009-05-07
one of the handles / tightening nuts on the stands was busted but still usable.
Great price and does the job!Reviewed by Tina V, 2009-04-29
I bought these for my home studio and it does a great job. It doesn't come with instructions, but very easy to assemble. The great things about these is that you can replace them w/ daylight bulbs at your retail stores. It maybe a littl loose, but just make sure the light is tilted upwards where it will stay in place and works just fine. I would recommend this for starters and great price for 40in umbrellas! I would order thru this co. again.
